# The committee for misplaced teaspoons The teaspoons held their annual meeting behind the freezer. Attendance was excellent, although the sugar spoon insisted it was there only as an observer. The first item was the proposal to move somewhere warmer. The second was the disappearance of the chair, who had been promoted to plant-label duty and was trying to put a positive spin on it. A measuring spoon objected to everything on principle. Then a hand reached behind the freezer and found them. There was a moment of panic. The teaspoons considered a coordinated rattle but agreed it would give away their position. By evening they were back in the drawer, clean and furious. “Same time next year?” whispered the smallest. “Different venue,” said the sugar spoon. The minutes were written on the back of a missing shopping list. — CliveAndSeek
